25 Purple Coneflower Seeds,  Echinacea purpurea.  A native perennial to Eastern and Central US is the perfect addition to any pollinator garden.  Seeds hand collected and cleaned.  All plants grown along my lane in Elizabethtown, PA.  Always free of pesticides and chemicals. 1 year old plants available beginning of May for $4 each.  Seedlings will be available this year at the Milkweed Market for $2 each starting around June.

Description

Echinacea not only has medicinal properties but it’s a wonderful Fall nectar source for all pollinators and migrating Monarch butterflies.

Plant Description: A Central and Eastern US native perennial.  With a thick cluster of rough leaves at the base growing 2 – 3 feet tall the flower stalks then rise above them to a height of 3-4 feet. Purple cone shaped flowers that attract pollinators.  Rich Fall nectar source.  Drought tolerant once established. 

Instructions: Seeds need cold stratification.  Fall sow or  place in refrigerator for 4+ weeks. When ground warms, cover seeds with 1/4” soil and keep moist until germination is underway. 2-3 weeks. Prefers full sun.  Flower color will fade if grown in the shade.
