Description
Asclepias incarnata pink – Pink Swamp Milkweed. The color has also been described as Cinderella Swamp Milkweed. This beautiful native milkweed does well with wet feet, hence the name. If you have a low-lying area that gets soggy during the rainy season this is the milkweed to plant. The plant can be grown in gardens because it doesn’t spread.
Growing. Keep well watered. A well established plant will still prefer to be kept moist. Getting about 5’-6’ tall and the smaller leaves fill in enough to provide a lot of food for the caterpillars. The original plant will not spread via roots like the Common M. but will self seed and I’ve found those seedlings can be transplanted while young.
